Hi! I'm James Nichol, and this is my portfolio.
This website is still highly work in progress.
About Me
I'm a second-year engineering student at QUT, studying a double major of Mechatronics with Computer and Software Systems. In addition, I'm also currently the Marsupial Deployment (small robots) lead for the QUT Robotics Rover project. Although I'm only second-year, I have several years of experience developing real-world products in a small engineering firm.
My Projects
These are a selection of the projects that I've built over the years.

Perseus Rover
As part of the QUT Robotics Rover team, I designed and built several key parts of the rover, including major parts of the electrical system, the web monitoring and control UI, and the specialised Marsupial Deployment robots such as Talaria.

Droid Racing Challenge
The Droid Racing Challenge is an annual challenge run by QUT Robotics, where robots have to navigate autonomously around a track as fast as possible. I have competed twice, most recently on my own, achieving 5th place - as well as being the only finisher of those from QUT.
